Inspire People

Leadership must be inspirational. Leaders must have the ability to inspire people in order for them to reach great heights of performance and aim for success. For leadership to be effective, a leader must be seen with zeal and purpose. One cannot inspire if he himself does not know why he is doing the things he is actually doing, nor if he is non-enthusiastic about what he says.
Because of this, it is vital for a leader to have the ability to communicate his passion. Leaders create an inspirational culture in an organization.

How can a leader inspire the people he leads? A leader has zeal about the mission and vision of the organization. An inspirational leader does not keep that passion to himself but shares it in a way that others will feel the same way, too. Being able to share the nature of the vision and mission is vital. A leader must influence other people to feel and realize that their work has purpose and meaning beyond the work they do every single day. Transformation happens when people have a bigger picture of things. When the big picture is often communicated, it reinforces the reason why the organization exists. It gives meaning to what people are doing, and therefore emphasizes their worth in taking part of the organization.

Aside from communicating one’s passion, the inspirational leader gives ear to the organization. Sharing what you are passionate about, it means that you also are ready to listen and allow inputs, ideas, and thoughts from your group. No organization receives a hundred percent support on the same passion, to work on a certain goal, but hearing the input and the side comments all together will help you as a leader in incorporating these ideas or at least, understand where they are coming from.

Another thing about being an inspirational leader is making people feel important and included. This sense of inclusion goes beyond listening and giving feedback. People have to feel that intimacy of being connected to the

Who are the leaders who inspired you?

YOU CAN CAUSE ANYTHING

There is nothing you cannot be cause-in-the-matter of. Being cause-in-the-matter is not a matter of conclusion based on what you have observed in the past. Instead, it is a stand you take so that the events you face occur in a new context; a context wherein you are the cause-in-the-matter. Thus, if you see effects that are wrong or unpleasant, you can have the power to change it.

As the cause of all matter, you have the power to rewrite your future. You have the power to direct your life. When you can lead yourself, chances are you are capable of leading the group as well. How can you lead a group, if you cannot even lead your life?

What do you desire to cause for your life next year?

YOUR AWARENESS FOR THE THINGS YOU CAUSE

“Being cause in the matter” means you become the cause of everything in your life, as a stand you take for yourself and your life, and acting from that stand (Echeverria, Erhard, Granger, Jensen, & Zaffron, 2013). Taking a stand reveals an expression of your response-ability.

In any given matter, if you can have the power to cause something to happen, then this translates to power. The degree by which you become a victim of circumstance or you declare that you cannot control your experiences reveal your perspective of the degree of power you have over your life.  Thus, the fact that you cause something reveals you have power of it.

Echeverria, et al. (2013) describes you being the “cause in the matter” to  be a declaration, which is a place from which you view or deal with a set of facts that constitute a condition. Most of the time, you focus on the circumstances. You allow the problem to be so big that it consumes you. Instead of being evidence-based, you can become commitment-based by declaring you are cause-in-the-matter.

Being cause-in-the-matter is about creating the willingness in yourself to experience yourself as the cause (Echeverria et al., 2013). Thus, being cause-in-the-matter declares your commitment to be the author of your experiences (cause), rather than just a character in the story (effect).

As a stand, being cause-in-the-matter allows you to see the facts of the conditions you are faced with. In this regard, you will see opportunities to be effective. In the context by which you create or that you are the Cause, you will be able to see open doors for transformation. You set for yourself a context of Self as the source for the content.

Tithing Commandment: Do Not Tithe Anywhere

tithing-commandment

There is a proper place to give your tithes to and this is a tithing commandment that we must remember.

How will you feel when you receive a bill that you have to pay to a bank that you’re not sure you’ve already visited? Will you be happy or excited to look for that place? It will feel like sending something to an unknown address.

For example, you want to send a gift to an overseas friend. How will you make sure that your friend will receive it? Will you not ask for his/her address?

The same thing with our tithes, we ought to send it to the right address. Where does God live? What address shall we send back the tithe?

We Ought to Tithe in Our Place of Worship

In the Old Testament, we can see that the tithes were given to the Levites or priests. In the New Testament, the early Christian churches were the ones receiving the tithes and offerings which they used in spreading the Gospel. Now, in our generation, one may ask, “where are we supposed to tithe?” God said that we must bring the entire tithe into the storehouse so that they may be food in His house. This simply means that we are to bring our tithes to the Kingdom of God.

In other words, we ought to tithe in our place of worship. The place where we go to grow more in the love and presence of God is His Kingdom. Our local church is a storehouse where we can bring our tithes to God.

For example, you eat in one fast food chain, but you pay in another branch of it. Is this possible? Surely, it is not. We all know that where you eat is where you pay. Just like with our tithes and even offerings, we do not just give it anywhere. We give it to God in His Kingdom, the storehouse.

The Offering

Many people think that their giving is already good because they give to missionaries, charities, reliefs, etc. But, this kind of giving is not tithing. It is purely offering. Tithing is giving back the tenth of every blessing to God, Himself. If we give that 10% of our blessings to others and not to God, then that is not a tithe.

An offering is part of the remaining 90% of what we have. We can share or help out with this 90%, but remember that the 10% is God’s. It is to be returned to Him alone. Therefore, any giving apart from tithing is also not an offering. Why? This is because the money that we share or offer is basically not ours but God’s.

To maintain the integrity of the tithe, it is not just enough to give it wholly and completely. We must make sure that we deliver it to the right place and as it is. We should tithe to God in His storehouse before we can make an offering to others.

Tithing Commandment – Some Things to Ponder Over

Where do you think God is asking you to deliver your tithe? Why do you think so? How will you differentiate a tithe from an offering? Has there been any point in your life that you gave without tithing? How do you feel about giving to others without giving to God first?

Are you RESPONSE-ABLE?

Your ability to respond to a situation is your response-ability. You have a responsibility for the choices you make. When do you feel most powerless? It is when you have no control over a situation. It is when we have no choice in the matter. On the other hand, we are empowered by increasing our awareness of choice. Your sense of power is proportional to your ability to respond and your awareness of your choice. In every situation, our response-ability is expressed when we ask, “What must I do?” rather than our usual, “What can I do?”

We gain power when we understand that we have the power to transform the way events “occur” to us. Reality creation is an issue of power. Thus, you need understand what power is. Even when events present the worst scenario for you, your response-ability will reveal your choices. You can respond to an offer by choosing whether or not you will take it. Response-ability is described to be unconditional, because your responses are not dictated by external circumstances or by instinct (Kofman, 2006). External factors and inner drives influence you, but you always have a choice. As a
human-being, you have autonomy. The more you are aware about your autonomy, the more unconditioned your responses will be. Your ability to respond does not equate to your ability to succeed. There is no guarantee that you will always get what you intend in the end. The guarantee is that as long as you are alive and conscious, you can respond to your circumstances in order to pursue your desired future. This power to respond is a unique characteristic for humans. Your response-ability is a direct expression of your rationality, your will, and your freedom. Your humanity gives you your response-ability.

“Murmurings”

The inner voice can be the constant source of complaints in your head. A “murmuring” is described as a persistent complaint or a fixed way of being. Complaints can be about you, about others, about others to you, or about others to others. One of the main reasons why we “murmur” is because we intend to avoid taking responsibility. Murmuring are a denial of your true being as a co-creator of your life and your experiences.

We can view a murmuring like a scam operation. You get something out of being a certain way. However, as you get pay-offs, you also pay some cost. Your desire to get ahead or to get a better deal will lead to a greater cost.

For example, the desire to dominate can result in the lack of satisfaction. The desire to justify or to invalidate others can cause you your fulfillment. The desire to win or to make others lose can cause you your relationships and so on.  You cannot get your payoff without paying the cost.  When you become aware of murmuring and when you take responsibility for them, you are able to elevate your performance as a leader.

Murmuring has four elements: 1) A persisting complaint; 2) A pattern of behavior that goes with the complaint; 3) Payoff for having this complaint continue; 4) The cost of the behavior.

For example, the mother is always complaining that her husband is messy. Every time she sees her husband being messy, like with his closet, she gets into an argument with him. She nags him every time he is messy. The payoff for this continued complaint is she gets to be right about her husband making a mess and she avoids being under the domination of the husband. The fourth element is the cost. The cost is the husband will get tired of his nagging wife and he will distance himself from his wife.

Another illustration, think about a bachelor with commitment issues. The persisting complaint is that he is annoyed by women who are too needy. Every time he dates a new girl and she begins to ask him to spend more time with her or whatever kind of demand, he will break up with her. The payoff is that he will not have to be with “demanding” girlfriends. But the underlying reason is that he is afraid to commit or to invest too much time or energy.

The payoff, he misses out on finding someone he can truly commit to and have a satisfying relationship with.  The payoff, he misses out on finding someone he can truly commit to and have a satisfying relationship with.  The payoff is what keeps the murmuring going, which in most cases, this goes on for years. Maybe the payoff is that the person gets to be right. This reveals how a murmuring can sometimes feed a person’s pride. However, what is the cost? We lose joy, peace, and even relationships with the people we love because of these murmuring.

As leaders, you need to determine your personal murmuring and eliminate them. You also need to identify the murmuring of the members of the group. Once you do this, you will be able to communicate transformation more effectively.   payoff is what keeps the murmuring going, which in most cases, this goes on for years. Giving Your Tithe in Faith

giving-your-tithe

Giving your tithe in faith is an act that pleases God…

Werner Erhard describes integrity as the state of being whole and complete (Erhard, 1984). This means that if some parts of us are lacking or missing, then we are not in integrity. We are questionable.

If our giving is not from the integrity of our faith, then our tithe is incomplete. If our hearts are not set on the right direction, then our giving will be lost. Before we can even give our tithes, let us make it a point to check if our faith is beyond question.

The Spirit of Tithe Compared to a Mustard Seed and Mountain Faith

Jesus once used the illustration of a mountain-moving faith as big as a mustard seed. In giving our tithes, we can have the same picture in mind. If you find it hard to give God what is due to Him, then think of your faith like that of a mustard seed. That is how small your giving to God is.

Compare that mustard seed to the highest mountain that you have ever seen. That is how faithful God is to you. Try to split that mustard seed in half. It will all the more become nothing to the magnanimity of the mountain. This is a picture of giving without integrity. If we do not give our whole and complete tithes, the seed becomes smaller and smaller until it becomes nothing. The question is, “Are your tithes like that of a whole mustard seed, or have they been compromised little by little?”

Do All Tithes Grow?

If you plant your seed (tithes), will it grow? Not all seeds grow. The compromised seeds are less likely to live their purpose. Remember that even if it is just a little seed, it can move mountains.

God only asked for a seed that is so little compared to the mountain that He has for us. Our little faith is incomparable to God’s. But, still there are many of us who find it hard to give back what He had asked of us.

What if God will only give us blessings as small as a mustard seed and our needs are as high as the mountains? Will we thrive? Remember that apart from God, we are nothing.

Give Your Tithe Without Deception or Fraud

This is why we ought to give in faith, and being in faith is more than being trustworthy. It is more of the assurance that we are devoting our wholeness into a person or thing. This means that our tithes are to be given without a hint of deception or fraud.

Our tithes are to be whole and complete. If in our hearts we are not faithful, then how can we give faithfully? Moreover, how can we be with integrity apart from being faithful?

Some Thoughts About Tithing for You to Ponder Over

How do you define giving your tithe in faith? Can you consider yourself as a faithful giver? If yes, in what ways are you a faithful giver? If not, why? Do you believe that God looks not on the amount but in our hearts as we give? How does this relate or impact your life?

A FUTURE-BASED APPROACH TO LANGUAGE

A future-based approach to language does not describe how the situation occurs. Instead, this kind of language transforms how it occurs. It does this by rewriting the future. Do you see the difference?

Let us talk about the power of the future, where it comes from, what sustains it and how future-based language can rewrite it. Zaffron and Logan presented the example of two families. One made $200,000 this year, while the second one made $50,000. Both families will make $100,000.00 in the next year. The first will be unhappy. The second will be happy. Why is it so, when the present money of the first family is significantly larger than the second one?

The actual money one has today does not make you happy, but it is the money that you will have in the future that shapes your experience of money right now. If you win $5,000 in a game today and someone tells you that you will lose your job tomorrow, will you spend this $5,000 on some senseless purchase? You will save it because you know you will lose your job in the near future.  There is a universal principle that people live into the future they see coming at them, not the actual future they will get into someday. Unless you do anything that can alter the course of your life, the future you are living into is your default future. By “default future” we mean this not in the sense that it will be your inevitable future, such as aging or dying, rather what is going to happen in your experience. The default future is about your expectations, fears, hopes, and predictions that are based on your experience in the past.

The actual act of creating a new future displaces the default future that was already there. You are only able to create a new future through language. Do not simply describe what you are going through. Instead, use your words to create a new future.

There is a condition required in order for you to use future-based language. You cannot paint on top of a picture on a canvas, in the same way that you cannot write more words on a page that is already filled up with writing. You cannot create a future when there is already one coming at you. Before you create a new future for yourself, there has to be space for it. You must create a space for nothingness. It is in an empty space wherein you can truly create new possibilities. It is through new possibilities that you can create the new future you desire.

Do You Understand Why We Need to Tithe?

tithe

“I absolutely believe in the power of tithing and giving back. My own experience about all the blessings I’ve had in my life is that the more I give away, the more that comes back. That is the way life works, and that is the way energy works.” -Ken Blanchard

Have you ever been asked to pay for something that you do not know why you have to or what is it for? If yes, how does it feel? Does this feel well or are you doubtful?

Will you still give even if you are uncertain why you have to give? Are you going to give even if you do not know where your money goes after? Will you be able to give the right amount if what is asked is not specific?

For example, the bank informed you that they would sue you if you are not able to pay ten percent of your debt within a certain period of time. What will you do? Surely, you will pay for it. Why? This is because you understand the necessity of it. In other words, you know why and when you have to pay the bank and in what amount.

We Must First Know in Our Hearts Why We Have to Give

It is applicable in tithing. More than knowing our abilities to give, we must first know in our hearts why we have to give. Tithing without knowing is the reason why some people do not tithe in integrity.

If God said that we ought to return just any amount we want to give, then how much are you willing to give?

If a tithe is not supposed to be ten percent, then how much will you give? Is it higher, equal or lesser than ten percent? Think about if God is not specific with the instructions regarding our tithe, how will you manage to give your own tithes?

When we do not know the purpose of a thing, we will also not know how to use it wisely or properly. Therefore, we need to have the proper knowledge on giving our tithes, for it is necessary for us to tithe righteously.

We Tithe Because We Give to God What Is God’s

There are so many Scriptures that we can refer to regarding our tithes and how it is to be given and used. However, let me point out just one Scripture why we are to give. We ought to give to God what is God’s, as Jesus said so.

We do not own anything in this world. All of us have something because God has given it to us. But, the tenth of what He has given us must be returned, for it is His.

Think about it carefully. God owns everything, but He did not ask us to give everything back to Him. He owns the 100%, yet He gave us the freedom to own the 90% and asked only for the tenth to be returned.

To give our tithes, we must understand the fact that we are giving it simply because we do not own it. Our tithes are God’s property and not ours. Moreover, to tithe in integrity is to know that we have to give back wholly and completely what is God’s.

FUTURE-BASED LANGUAGE AND EXPERIENCES

Let me present to you that there are two ways to use language. The first is  a descriptive manner wherein language functions to depict or represent things as they are or have been. Through this function, you need to accurately articulate the world as it is. Descriptive language is used to look back, identify trends, and to predict what will happen.

If you intend to go around New York City without a map and you ask a New Yorker how to get around, then you will be able to find descriptive language to be useful. If you do not have a menu and you ask your waiter about the food they are offering, the waiter will use descriptive language. How would you feel if your surgeon cannot describe to you the procedure that he would perform on you, wouldn’t you feel insecure about the skills of this doctor? Descriptive language has its limits. You cannot create something new by merely describing what was and what is. If you use descriptive language to talk about the future, you are limited to predictions based on past cycles and current realities (Zaffron & Logan, 2009).

A future-based language represents another function. This kind of language is also called as generative language. This kind of language has the power to create new futures, to craft vision, and to eliminate the blinders that are preventing people from seeing new possibilities.
