And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of

Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O

Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so

shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper (King

James Version, 2 Chronicles 20:20).

They rose early in the morning and went out to the wilderness of Tekoa;

and when they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, O

Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, put your trust in the Lord your God

and you will be established. Put your trust in his prophets and succeed”

(New American Standard Bible, 2 Chronicles 20:20 NASB).

2 Chronicles 20:20 will give you 20/20 vision.  A lot of times, our vision is blurred by so many different things. When a person needs glasses, it’s because the eyes’ vision is not 20/20. In the same way, when the direction we have in life is unclear, it’s because we need glasses, or we need something that will help our vision go back to 20/20. The role of prophets in the 21th century is to act like your prescription glasses, correcting your vision to its rightful state.

Our vision gets blurry because of so many reasons. The circumstance, the people around us, Satan, our personal fears and doubts, or the busyness of life can limit our vision. When we hear a prophetic word from the prophet, the prophet restores our vision to what it should be. The prophet helps us focus back on the promises of God, or He can give clarity to where God wants us to be. What is God’s prophetic word for you in this season?
